Textile and Paper Engineering

Description

This doctoral programme provides training in research, development and innovation technologies at the highest level and with criteria of excellence and innovation in the areas of textile and paper engineering. The general aim is to develop a UPC doctoral programme in the field of textile and paper engineering to prepare doctoral degree holders who complete the programme to carry out and lead research projects.

The specific objectives are:

• To develop deep knowledge of the sources of data and scientific and technical information.
• To gain a command of advanced technologies in the fields of textile and paper.
• To gain a command of advanced methods for obtaining new textile or paper processes/products.
• To have the required scientific and technological criteria to propose, implement and direct a basic or applied research project in the areas of textile and/or paper.

The cross-disciplinary objectives are:

• To gain the ability to synthesise information, critical reasoning, initiative and creativity.
• To have good knowledge of the English language and the ability to express yourself orally and in writing.
• To have the ability to work in a team.
• To develop social and environmental responsibility.Este Programa de Doctorado apuesta por la formación en las tecnologías propias de I+D+I en el más alto nivel y con criterios de excelencia e innovación en las áreas de ingenierías textil y papelera. El objetivo general es desarrollar en la UPC un programa de doctorado en el campo de las ingenierías textil y papelera que capacite a los doctores que salgan de este para llevar a cabo y dirigir proyectos de investigación.

Entre los objetivos más específicos pueden citarse los siguientes:

• Que los doctorandos tengan un conocimiento profundo de las fuentes de datos y de la información científico-técnica.
• Que los doctorandos dominen las tecnologías avanzadas en los ámbitos textil y papelero.
• Que los doctorandos dominen los métodos avanzados para la obtención de nuevos procesos/productos textiles o papeleros.
• Que los doctorandos tengan criterio científico y tecnológico necesario para plantear, implantar y dirigir un proyecto de investigación básica o aplicada, en los ámbitos textil y/o papelero.

Y entre los objetivos más transversales:

• Que adquieran capacidad de síntesis, razonamiento crítico, iniciativa y creatividad.
• Que tengan un buen conocimiento del idioma inglés y facilidad de expresión oral y escrita.
• Que tengan capacidad de trabajo en equipo.
• Que tengan responsabilidad social y medioambiental.
