Description

The Master’s in Automation and Robotics Projects of UPC School, is a program designed to train highly specialized engineers and technicians in the design, implementation and integration of automatic and robotic systems in industrial environments. The master’s degree provides students with advanced competencies in automation, computerization and systems integration, enabling them to lead transformation projects in the production chain and improve industrial competitiveness.

This program responds to the current reality where traditional human functions within the production chain are progressively transferred to automatic and intelligent systems. In the new context of Industry 4.0, new technologies favor more intelligent and automated machines that not only increase production flexibility, but also allow cost reduction and significantly improve industrial competitiveness. Industrial automation constitutes an important source of competitive advantage through the use of automatic machines, programmable logic controllers, robots, automated warehouses, automatic transport, process supervision and control, and industrial communication systems. The progressive increase of automation and computers in factories requires technicians to constantly update their knowledge in broad fields: electronics, automation and computing, from an integrated perspective.

This master’s analyzes and evaluates the latest technologies available in the market regarding automation, computerization and systems integration in different production areas. The program stands out for its high employability rate, with leading companies such as Teknics, Schneider Electric, Accenture, Aigües de Barcelona, Geprom and BCN Vision contacting the program directly to fill vacancies. In many cases, job offers have not been filled because all participants were already incorporated into the labor market.
