Description
The doctoral programme in sustainability was born of the UPC’s earlier programme in Sustainability, Technology and Humanism, a pioneer in Spain, created in line with Royal Decree 778/1998 and which was started in September 1999. Currently, it is one of the programmes with the highest enrolment rate at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Research into sustainability studies interactions between society and nature by analysing alternative models and technologies to face the main current socio-environmental challenges. It brings together specialists from many fields and backgrounds with varying disciplinary perspectives, but all of whom share the common desire to contribute to a sustainable development of our societies and increase the options and abilities available for future generations to set their own path.
